program designed to provide
an intensive experiential

culture, society and politics
of contemporary Europe will
be offered this summer
through a cooperative
program between USC and
the University of Heidelberg
in Germany.
Open to advanced undergraduates
and graduate
students, as well as social
studies and language
teachers, the program offers
participants a chance to
travel and study in a number
of European countries.
The program will be offered
during the second
summer term at USC and
will open with an orientation
session July 11 in Columbia.

Advanced Secretarial Seminar
USC's Daniel Management Center willpresentan advanced
secretarial seminar May 18-19 at the Sheraton Charleston
Hotel.
The workshop will help secretaries who are proficient in
technical secretarial skills review procedures and develop
additional skills in human relations,supervision and office
management.
Seminar leaders are USC faculty members. Registration is
$195 for one registrant and $170 each for two or more from the
same organization.

The Army, Navy and Air Force ROTC units at USC will
participate in a joint pass and review ceremony Thursday on
the Horseshoe.
The ceremony will begin at 3:30 p.m. and will honor Dr.
Stephen H. Ackerman, associate provost at USC, Ada B.
Thomas,associate dean of the USC College of Business Administration
and Capt. E.C. Castle, a retired USC naval
officer, for their support of the ROTC programs at Carolina.
