Journalists
To Meet
A group of 24 distinguished
American and Euron^nn
journalists will meet at USC
May 19-22 for the Seventh
Annual U.S.-European
Journalists Conference, USC
President Dr. James B.
Holderman announced.
In addition, more than 15
internationally-known foreign
policy and economic
experts from both sides of
the Atlantic will speak at the
conference, while 50 invited
ooservers representing tne
L . S. administration,
Congress, Washington
embassies, USC and the
Columbia community will
also attend.
The conference will be
hosted by the James F.
i'vines International Center
and sponsored by the U.S.
delegation of the Commission
of the Kuronoan
Communities (Common
Market) and the Foundation
for American Communications,
a national
educational institute.
Conference expenses are
shared by the two sponsors.
"This prestigious
gathering of leading
reporters, editors and
commentators alternates

location," Holderman said,
"but this is the first time it
has been held on an
American campus and we
are pleased and honored
USC was chosen as the
conference site.
"This year's conference is
particularly well-timed
since it comes two weeks
before the seven-nation
economic summit in France
and many of the conference
participants will be reporting
on or directly involved
in the summit," he said.
Holderman, who will serve
as moderator, added that the
conference will deal with
issues related to the world
economy, U.S -European
trade, Atlantic security,

resources, North-South
Relations and East-West
commerce.

economics professor Paul
Samuelson; West German
Chancellor Helmut Sch- j
midt's economic adviser
