And Again
By JOHNNY BOGGS
Asst. Sports Editor
It was a barnstorming,
hair-raising, foot-stomping
spectacle, but by the end of
the game the USC Lady
Gamecocks had prevailed
with a 99-91 overtime win
over the Clemson Tigers.
Sheila Foster once again
led the Gamecocks with 38
points and 15 points, but the
senior center was overshadowed
by a superb
performance by freshman
Brantley Southers. The
Columbia native blistered
the nets for 28 points for the
Gamecocks, 14-6.
The Tigers, 14-10, were
paced by senior forward
Barbara Kennedy. The 6-0
Home, Ga. native, the
nation's leading scorer with
a 27.8 average, scorched the
nets with 42 points and also
pulled down 18 rebounds.
