! BY JOHN VAUGHAN Felix and Oscar are roommates at USC. They a don't have much in common, ^ but they manage to get along. Felix is a mnsir major; Oscar is in journalism. Felix writes home every week; Oscar has trouble finding his way to the dorm on the weekends. Felix is a third-year senior ; Oscar thinks he's a fifth-year junior. But one thing binds these two as brothers, and that is ^ their shared affinity for "late-nite dining." You see. Felix is sparrhinu vainly for a "quiet little place with an intimate French atmosphere," while Oscar actually has been seen paying money for a 7-Eleven burrito when he gets his 2 a.m. munchies. And so, each Friday night, when Felix finishes his homework, he waits for Oscar to stumble in. The pair Q squeezes into Felix's sensible Dodge Scamp and they cruise the Columbia area 24hour eating establishments. They talked to me the other day about some of their findings. One of Oscar's favorite locations is Goody's Restaurant and Scoreboard Lounge at 199 Knox Abbott Dr. in Cayce. Felix is quick [ ^ to moan plastic! when his ? roomie speaks of Goody's. "I mean, one has barely opened the door when one's eyes are stabbed with sickly red and fluorescent orange colors. Gooey's (Felix' pet name) is so horribly overdone it will make you cry," he says. Oscar insists, however, that the service at Goody's is t the friendliest around?
