^ UV9UIV99 Service Revived By TIM BONNER Staff Writer The Business Administration Student-FaculAty Commission has become ^active again. Early this fall, Dean James F. Kane asked Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Ada Thomas to reestablish the commission. The commi?cir?n \i;Hir>Vi vine' frturiHoH in the early 1970s, had been inactive for three years because of lack of student and faculty interest. A Professor Terry Hakes, who was asked by Thomas to chair the commission, is one of six faculty members and ten students now serving on the commission. He sees its role as a vital one within the BA school. "The primary purpose of the commission is to provide lines of communication between students, faculty, and the administration. She sees it as an important source of information for students. "This handbook will provide more information about courses and curriculum to allow students to make an intelligent selection of courses in their area of study. This is one way to give students more help than they were getting," Steadman said. Although the students on the commission do most of the work. Rakes said the faculty serve in an important capacity. "The faculty assist in some committee work, certainly. They are there primarily, however, to give ideas. Their most important function is an advisory one." Any graduate or undergraduate student in the College of Business Administration is eligible to serve on the commission. Members are either appointed or selected after filling out an application. The commission's constitution states various academic fields, grade point ratios and class levels should be represented.
