Open Door, located in the lower level of
Russell House's west wing, offers information
and help on a variety of mental
and physical health topics.
A drop-in center operates Mondav
through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It
offers height and weight scales, skinfold
calipers, blood pressure p???
cuffs, anatomical
models and resource
books to anyone
interested in health. , ,

the Health Risk Index Questionnaire, which
all new students are required to complete.
By filling out this questionnaire, students
can forego the physical examinations.
The questionnaire is returned to the
students to give them an assessment of their
nutrition, weight, exercise, sexuality and
stress habits.

According to Marybeth Love, director of
the department of Health Education, this
program has involved many freshmen with
Open Door.
In addition to its other programs, each
year Open Door sponsors a week-long health
conference with national and community
speakers promoting health on campus.
CURRENTLY, Open Door is sponsoring
aerobic exercises on camDus. According to
Love, response has been excellent, and
Open Door hopes to expand the number of
classes.
