"A LOT OF THE problems we had
moving the ball were our fault. We had a lot
of breakdowns that we didn't count on."
Beckham was admittedly proud of the
USC defense.
"Our defense had a great game," he said.

The defense kept the game from being
more worrisome for Carolina in the first

After Georgia had marched 74 yards to the
USC four on the Bulldogs' first possession,
the defense dug in and kept the hosts out of

Chuck Slaughter became the latest addition
to USC's list of wounded during the
game. The 6-5, 260-pound offensive tackle
suffered a foot injury early in the second
half.
uarlen noted that with the injury to
Slaughter the only players remaining from
last season's offense are Horace Smith and
Wright.
Wright, who had rushed for over 100 yards
in the past two games, was held to 20 yards
on 10 carries. Dominique Blasingame led
USC runners with 26 yards'on seven trials.
