Gamecock has not materialized after attorneys'
negotiations broke down this month.
Sandra F. Chinnis filed suit against the Gamecock last
8 vear after the USC student newsoaoer Dublished a semi
nude picture of her in the April 9,1980 issue.
According to Columbia attorney Jean Toal, representing
the Gamecock in the suit, negotiations for a settlement
reached a certain mint in .lime 1QR1 that it an
peared for a time the case was settled. However,
negotiations have since proved unavailing, and present
indications are that the case will proceed to trial in
November.
