The lunch and dinner Heal Deal was one entree; two vegetables; soup, salad or dessert; two rolls; two margarine patties; and a large drink for $2.60. Fay said the meal plan was discontinued because of the confusion it created for cashiers and students. In its place, ARA will offer daily specials to save students n^oney. ACCORDING to Fay, the Real Deal would have cost students 10 percent more this year, "^he daily specials, which ?place the Real Deal are priced from $2.25 to $2.85. However, he also pointed out that some prices have increased. Most students were surprised to learn there would be no Real Deal this year. Many missed having the option of choosing among different entrees, vegetables and desserts. "The specials are nice, but they limit you so much," was one comment. Fay said mostly older students have asked why the Real Deal was canceled. He said after he explained to them the Real Deal would have cost more this year and that some prices were lower now because of the elimination of the Real Deal, the students agreed it was best to cancel it. Some students say the Real Deal was not such a good deal in the first place and like the way the cafeterias are run now.
