lius is 11. My tnree-year
tenure as Gamecock Film
Critic is at an end.
Between my review of
"Eyes of Laura Mars" in
August 1978 and my review
of "Heaven's Gate" this past
Monday, I've praised and
ravaged close to 300 movies
in these oases. The best
without a doubt, was Woody
Allen's "Manhattan," the
worst, Irwin Allen's 44 The
Swarm."
I visited the sets of 10
movies during my three
years here, interviewed a
dozen directors and talked
with 70 or so actors and
actresses. I hope the articles
derived from my adventures
were as fun to read as they
were to write.
My enjoyable interviews
were those with Dudley
Moore and Burt Reynolds,
both of whom were hilarious,
and thosp with QalK/ TTSolrl

From the amount of mail
I've received over the years,
it's clear that a number of
USC students think of me in
equally disparaging terms. I
really couldn't care less,
however, because everyone
is entitled to their opinion
about a particular move. I
iust happened to get paid for
voicing mine.
Also, I realize that specific
reviews are much more
memorable if one doesn't
agree with them. Thus, I
must assume that a ^great^

pompous. Well, at least the
maudlin.
