The 17th-ranked
Gamecock baseball team's
seven-game winning streak
was snapped Monday night
as the Seahawks of UNCWilmington
stopped USC 5-1.
Mike Antle picked up the
win for UNC-Wilmington,
striking out six and walking
one. Antle allowed only five
USC hits in the contest and
boosted his record to 9-3.
GAMECOCK PITCHER
Don Gordon absorbed the
loss, his second against six
wins. Gordon allowed four
earned runs on 10 hits and
walked one.
The Seahawks scored
earned runs in the fifth,
sixth, seventh and eighth
innings, picKing up an
unearned run in the second.
The first run came when
Seahawk left fielder John
Milkovits got to first on an
infield hit, ran to second on a
passed ball and scored on an
error by Jim Curl.
Seahawk third baseman
Tommy Phillips boosted

in the fifth, scoring on an
infield out.

SPARKED the Gamecocks
