member reported about five gallons of
gasoline stolen from his car while it was
parked in a campus lot. A false fire alarm
was pulled in Maxcy dorm.
FRIDAY, MARCH 13 - A staff member
found a man in the kitchen of Capstone
Cafeteria. She yelled, and the man fled
with two other men through a rear door.
When Campus Police arrived, they

pounds of meat was stacked outside the
freezer, and the lock )n the freezer door
was broken.
A male student hit a female student with
a beer bottle during an argument in a
Douglas dorm room. The woman refused
to sign an arrest warrant.

battery was stolen from a car parked in a
1600 Senate St. lot.
Wheel covers were removed from a car
parked in a coliseum lot and from another
car parked in Blossom Street Garage. A
purse was stolen from an unlocked Bates
House room. False fire alarms were pulled
in Cliff Apartments and LaBorde dorm.

THURSDAY. MARCH 12 - A purse was
stolen from an unlocked Bates House
room. Another purse was stolen from a
Gambrell Hall classroom when the owner
left it on the floor after class had ended. A
black and white portable television set was i
stolen from a LaBorde dorm room. i
Wheelcovers were removed from a car
parked in Blossom Street Garage. A staff
member reported seeing a man take a
Russell House University Union-owned
chair from the Russell House patio. A
female student reported receiving
harassing telephone calls at her University
Terrace apartment. The United States
flag and the USC flag were stolen from in
front of the President's House on the
Horseshoe.
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 11 - A converter
was stolen from the projection room in
Williams-Brice College of Nursing. A
coffee urn and four textbooks were stolen
from a car parked in Blossom Street
Garage. A female student was caught
leaving Thomas Cooper Library with a
hidden book in her possession.

series of three murals
commissioned by Columbia's
Downtown Action

senior running back will be
painted on the side of Booker
T. Washington gymnasium
on Blossom Street by local artist
Robert Waldrop.
Waldrop said he expects to
complete the work in mid- !

The 30-by-50-foot mural I
will be unveiled May 2, the
scheduled date of USC's
spring football scrimmage
and of the city's Mayfest
celebration.
