X)TC has increased Army ROTC's size,
anary said.
"The Army is placing greater emphasis
n officers having baccalaureate degrees,
/e are not relying on OCS as much." As a
esult, men and women that ordinarily
'ould be in OCS enroll in ROTC.
Reese said the Korean War has had an

"The last popular war for the United

CANARY said the non-material benefits
of being in ROTC were important.
"I think from an ROTC standpoint, the
emphasis is on leadership. A person in

Another benefit of being in Army HOTC is
"being part of a positive group," Canary
said.
NROTC sponsors a leadership lab for
juniors and seniors. "The purpose of the
lab," Ingram said, "is to help men learn
how to organize large groups."
"THE LEADERSHIP training that ROTC
provides will pay off in every job," Reese
said.
