Assembly yesterday approved renaming a section of Stadium Road after the Heisman Trophy winner. The concurrent resoulution introduced by House Speaker Emeritus Solomon Blatt, D-Barnwell, had already received House approval but needed yesterday's Senate approval before being final. Concuire. t r? odutions don't require Gov. Dick Riley's signature so the resolution will be sent directly to the Department of Highways and Public Transportation to be put into effect. The section of Stadium Road from Rosewood Drive to Bluff Road will be " renamed to honor Rogers, USC tailback and winner of the 1980 Heisman Trophy. Business workshoo f_ scheduled USC's Small Business Development Center will offer three courses in March designed for people interested in starting a business. A workshop on March 3 will focus on how to best develop and present a loan application. Beth Freeman, r iormer co-manager ot a local retail store, will be the instructor. A WORKSHOP on how to manage time and handle job stress will be held March 10. Barbara Walters and Sandy Reindenbach, human relations consultants, will teach the class designed for semi-skilled workers and managers. A March 17 seminar taught by USC advertising professor Sarah Wise will deal with advertising strategy for the small business. Each course will be held from 7 to 9:30 in room 801 of the business administration building. Stokes said he would like Campus Police to become more service oriented, "lendinga helping hand to students in need of help." Stokes said he hopes to eventually hire an officer to train new Campus Police officers. Officers are currently trained at the state Criminal Justice Academv Stokes said the officer would give additional training to those coming out of the academy.
