Georgia Southern Coach
John Nelson said Carolina
was the most physical team
they've faced all year.
"There were bodies all over
the court," he said. "We're
not used to that much
physicalness, plus we shot
extremely poorly."
Georgia Southern did not
try to slow down USC's
running game, despite the
scoring deficit. "The kids
came to have fun and play
basketball, and it's not going
to affect us greatly if we win
or lose now," Nelson said.
"I'm not really fond of
people who slow down all the
time, anyway."
THE BALLGAME was one
of the most physical played
by USC, with 56 fouls called
on both teams. USC turned

but did not add extra
pressure on him despite his
last regular-season home
appearance, he said.
"I think about it (his
scoring average) before the
game, but once we're out
there playing I don't have
time to think about it," he
said.
Fredrick said his teammates
help him score by
encouraging him and
feeding him the ball.
"They like to see me score.
I think they're more excited
about me scoring than I
am," he said. "It's a mutual
thing. It always works out
for the best for us."
Co-captain Dunleavy, who
scored six points with two
assists and three rebounds,
said he hopes the
Gamecocks will be invited to
post-season play.
"BEING A senior, I want
to try and extend my career
as long as possible. It was a
great way to go out if it is our
last game at home," he said.
Dunleavy feels the year
has been his most successful
at USC. "This year I had my

Jimmy Foster, who
collected a career high 20

"Coach Foster said if we

said. "We set high goals. We
may have surprised some
