Three Russell House
IJniversitv Union
organizations have coordinated
a series of activities
at the Russell House today to
kick off the Halloween
weekend.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
WUSC-FM is sponsoring a
Trick-or-Treat party on the
Russell House patio. The
party will feature balloons,
contests, a pumpkin carving
and prizes given every 15
minutes, including meals
and a varietv of other items.
A ballroom decorating
contest will be held from 1

arc invited to bring any
Halloween decorations they
choose to the Russell House
Ballroom where they will be
displayed and later judged.
Frizes will be awarded for
the best decorations.

The Russell House
Ballroom will be the site of a
masquerade ball later in the
evening. It will run from 9
p.m. until 1 a.m. with music
provided by two New Wave
bands. The Neuz and The
Fanatics. There will be a
costume contest with prizes.
The Neuz is a four-piece
hanri formprl in Atluntn fhnt
frequently tours the Florida
club circuit. The Fanatics is
the first New Wave band
formed in Columbia. They
have played at the Golden
. Spur And at Vop Henmon's in
Five Points. "Both of the
bands play New Wave
music, which should be easy
to dance to. That's why we
are leaving half the ballroom
