to see the book's hero,
Samuel Todd, appear in
Lawrence Sanders' new
book, "The Tenth Commandment.
" It will,
however, be the only
disappointment they experience
in the detective
novel.
The main character of the
book is Joshua Bigg. The
puzzle he must unravel is
actually two puzzles. As

A detective novel of this
length, 385 pages, needs
more than a few main
characters, no matter how
intriguing they may be, to
sustain reader interest. To
do this, Sanders gives the
readers a large group ol
background characters that
are even more varied than
the main characters.
