Soccer team
upsets Duke

Carolina's soccer team upset the 16th ranked Duke Blue
| Devils 2-1 Saturday in the first round of the Port City
| Classic at Wilmington, N.C.
Midfielder Art Kramer scored his second goal of the
| season with 15:37 gone in the first half to give the
| Gamecocks a victory in their first soccer meeting ever with
f the ACC opponent. Freshman Dave Masur also contributed
| a first half goal, the first score of his short career.

| to meet host UNC-Wilmington in the championship match
| Sunday night. The Gamecocks hold a 2-0 edge over the
| Seahawks, winning last season's encounter 3-2 in Columbia.
The Gamecocks, usually known for their fine defense,
| have allowed 19 goals this season, surpassing the 16 goals
1 allowed last year.
Dave Goodchild and Victor Wikstrom continue to lead the
| scoring attack with eight and seven goals, respectively.
| Wikstrom and Ed Fuchs have also contributed two gameI
