Ever since the "Cartoonists battle" three weeks ago on
September 15, the Gamecock has been beseiged with cartoonists
responding to Robert Ariail's 'top that' taunt. The
battle began with a filler Ariail did lampooning a National
Lampoon cartoon (below) and a few days later he received in
the mail an anonymous cartoon as a counterpoint to his
threat to shoot the poor dog.
Ariail retaliated and the cartoons have been steadily
coming in since. Here are the best of the responses.

typewritten, triple spaced on a 65 space line.
lettors should be no longor than 300 words and columns should be limned to one
newsworthy subject no longer that) four typed pages. Letters and columns must be

standing or faculty position and major. Pseudonyms are unacceptable, but the
writer's name may be withhold on letters, upon request, if the circumstances
warrant it.
