SUNDAY, SEPT. 21 ? Two motorcycles were stolen
from the Bates House lot, and a car was taken from the lot
at 600 Marion St. A car parked at a Wade Hampton lot
was broken into ? a console cover was ripped up, three
tapes were taken and a stereo amplifier was torn from the
dashboard.

clothes was stolen from a dormitory closet. Two vending
machines were forced open in the coliseum canteen, and
an undetermined amount of money was stolen.

license plate was taken from a car parked in a coliseum
lot. Two wallets were stolen from dorm rooms.
MONDAY, SEPT. 22 ? A student reported receiving
threatening telephone calls at his Snowden dorm room. A
staff member discovered three letter boards pulled from
the walls of the Coliseum Ticket Office. One board was
missing. Two were left on the floor. All of the letters were
stolen.
TUESDAY, SEPT. 23 ? A staff member discovered a
man in her Davis College office. He said he was looking
for a Dr. Davison. The staff member told him there was no i
one there by that name. After the man left, she found son I
had been stolen from her purse. The wheel covers were
taken from a car in the lot at 400 Sumter St.
A staff member reported credit cards stolen from her
purse. A student's car was ransacked in the Blossom
Street Gara,, 2 and her roomHvas broken into. Some credit
cards were stolen.
WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 24 - A USC shuttle bus was
stolen from the bus stop at 300 Bull St. when the driver left
the keys in the ignition and walked to a Bates House
restroom. The driver said he saw a female driving away.
The bus was found 15 minutes later at the bus stop with the
passenger doors bent and one door's glass smashed.
The luggage rack was stolen from a car in a coliseum
I lot. A staff member discovered her calculator stolen from

containing a wallet was stolen from the book drop in the
Campus Book Store.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 26 ? A staff member's sheets, tool
chest, guitar, and dulcimer were stolen from his office in
the Physical Science Center. The luggage rack and back
seat were stolen from a motorcycle. A wallet was stolen
from a student's unlocked apartment. A student who
locked only the front wheel of his bicycle at a Roost rack
found only the front wheel when he returned. i
SATURDAY, SEPT. 27 ? Campus police caught two j
students on Greene Street allegedly trying to steal a
folding table from the Russell House. A student attempted
suicide by cutting her wrist in the women's restroom on j
the second floor of Russell House.

(JSC hires alumnus

USC alumnus Gary L. Goodman of Hollywood, S.C., has
been hired as the athletic department's ticket manager.
"It's a good career move. I'm very excited to be with the
university and the athletic department," Goodman said.
He said he was contacted by John Moore, assistant athletic

for the job.
"He and I had met previously, and he knew of my
background. I went through the normal channels of application,
and Coach Carlen interviewed me," Goodman
said.
Moore said Goodman's accounting backgrouhd is an important
qualification. "The position is ultimately responsible
for handling the policies established concerning distribution,
ordering and accounting for tickets for all USC athletic

Goodman, 32, is leaving the S.C. Credit Union League,
where he was a manager of the Auditing Division. He
received a degree in business administration from USC in
1970. He is married and has one daughter.
Ray Faircloth, who died in July, held the job for 15 years.
New Crucible staff to meet
The New Crucible will hold a staff meeting at 5 p.m. Oct. 4
in the magazine office on the third floor of the Russell House.
Any USC student interested in working on the New Crucible
or in contributing ideas, articles, short stories, poems,
essays, photography or art work is invited to attend the
meeting.
At the meeting the staff will finish plans for this year's first
issue, scheduled for distribution in mid-November, and
discuss the next two issues, to be published in February and
April.
