The student senate allocated money to
five student organizations Wednesday,
warning that the money will run out before
all organizations' requests are filled.

organizations this fall on a first come, first
serve basis. "They've all been given a fair
shot at it," Chairperson Dorothy Stefan
said. "We are going to run out of money
before we get to all the organizations."
Thirty organizations haven't received
allocations yet.
Four media organizations and the intramural
sports program were allocated
more than $33,000 of the $48,488 available to
students.
THE NEW CRUCIBLE received $9,478 for
three issues. No editors are being paid.

to pay for programs that would raise $6,000
for the organization, Stefan said.
WUSC received $4,500 for new equipment,
and the Media Office received $750 to pay
for staff members' business trips.
Intramural Sports received $15,895, the
largest allotment. The money was divided
between salaries and new equipment.
IN OTHER SENATE business. Judicial
Committee Chairman Peter Shahid
suggested that the Student Government
position be eliminated. The issue, to be
considered by the Rules Committee,
questions the necessity of the position.
