Two German university presidents interested in examinin
American solutions to academic problems began a month
long tour of the United States Friday with a visit to USC.
Dr. Walter Kroell, president of Philipps University i
Marburg, Germany, and Dr. Hinrich Seidel, president of th
University of Hannover in Hannover, Germany, met wit
USC administrators to discuss enrollment, continuin;
education, student exchange programs and researcl
cooperation between schools and industry.

Pennsylvania at Philadelphia.
Kroell and Seidel are participating in the Interna tion*
Visitors Program of the U.S. International Communication
Agency. They selected the universities they would visit afte
consulting the Institute of International Education i

FOREIGN VISITORS to the United States typically see th
Northeast and West Coast, Kroell said, "but we felt it woul
be most worthwhile to see a university in the South in order t
get an impression of higher education in this region of th
United States."
