!0n Monday, the greatest
: single event in the history of
it USC took place. It was
I known as Drop/Add day and
people came from all over
the country to participate in
the great contest of skill,
fame and fortune. In fact,
people lined up outside the
Coliseum just to get in. The
cost ? For those that live in
South Carolina, it was about
I $500 and over $1,000 for
students in such places as
Hackensack, New Jersey or
Roanoke, Virginia.
The whole process is one to
be admired. Courses are
added and dropped to a
schedule just by signing your
name and visiting practically
everv Drofessor.
I assistant and custodian in
your given department.
After that, you're free to
scramble back to see if the
courses you want are filled.
If so, start from scratch,
making sure that you get
your textbooks before the
bookstores close (which
usually turns out to be five
I minutes after they've
closed.)
Hey, don't despair! USC
will take care of everything.
They'll take the slips you've
filled out for your addition
and subtraction of
academics and put them in a
huge cage. Then they draw
them out one by one in an
elaborate ceremony,

After that, the USC intellectuals
mistype every

USC rules clearly state that ;
any student can miss as i

receiving an "F" for the 1
course and a mandatory two- i

ten hours a full load and six
hours a normal load. Be
sure that you take a
semester off every year to
"discover yourself" and
return with a poor attitude.
Listen to nobody when ,
they are giving advice and
make sure that you're ,
always right. Get into
arguments about things you
don't understand and
generally make a fool of
yourself. This is what
college is all about. It's
called the "selfish
awareness" attitude and I
believe it should be adopted
by everyone at USC. Concern
is a thing of the past and
recklessness is the key.
