Moore said Athletic
Director Jim Carlen has
been pushing for the 25
percent increase. Carlen
was unavailable for comment.
"We haven't had an increase
in two or three
years," he said. The athletic
department hopes the increase,
which would raise
the amount the department
receives from $16 to $20, will
begin in spring 1981.
THE ATHLETIC
DEPARTMENT made a
profit of more than $500,000
last vear. according to
Bernard Daetwyler, systems
vice president for business
and finance.
"It's been many years
since the athletic department
did not turn some
profit. "The athletic
