It can not be denied that Pam
Parsons is a winner, but one must
ask if winning is everything. Is
winning more important than the
enjoyment of the sport of
basketball? Jean Walling and
Suzanne Woolston must have
pondered this question in recent
weeks.
ALTHOUGH SUZANNE
Woolston and Jean Walling are
leaving Carolina for another
school, there should not be any
hard feelings. Both players have
given their all for USC and feel a
move right now is the best thing for
fh*?m I fnr nnf? am crateful for
their help in making Carolina a
winner and would like to wish them
nothing but the best in their new
endeavors.
I don't want anyone to get the
wrong idea. The Lady Gamecock
program is still one of, if not the
best, in the country. The program
is well-staffed. Assistant coach
Karen Brown is very bright and is
destined to become a head coach
very soon.
Yes, the women's program is in
very good hands and if these few
problems can be worked out, it will
continue to flourish. Since the
women's program is bringing
Carolina much fame, I hope these
things will be worked out as dc
many Gamecock fans.
