According to Cremins, the
chemistry of the 69-70 Gamecocks
is what made them so good. The
captain said that although they
didn't hang around together off the
court, they respected each other
enough as players to trust and
know what each was doing once
they suited up.
"Truthfully, we got along very
well on the court," he explained.
"Off the court, there were times
when we had our differences.
While we didn't hang out together,
there were several different
personalities, and a few who were
very close.

aside and played as a team."

Soon afterwards, he was hired to
coach at Appalachian State, and
has since been quite successful. '
Two seasons ago, he took his team
to the NCAA play-offs for the first
time.
"We've been real fortunate
here," the now-silver haired
Cremins said. "Overall we've done
very well here and I'm happy
about that. Appalachian is a tough
job because we're in a good con- |
ference and it's a good school." ;
