Heart rocks
from page 8
highlighted by an early Elvis
Presley tune, "Unchained 1
'melody' As Ann Wilson yelled,
"See you next year," it was apnarpnl
that thf? urmin haH u/armoH
up to the young, but receptive
crowd.
Perhaps there was too much
commercial emphasis on
promoting the BeBe Le Strange
album throughout the concert, but
this should have been expected and
accented bv the crowd. n
THE SECRET to Heart's success
is a strange one. On disc,
most of their material is pretentious
heavy metal riffing, mixed
with overworked vocals and
systematic lyrics. However, on
stage, the group emits an undescribable
aura that cannot be
felt through albums or radio.
Heart must be experienced live.
Despite five years of lawsuits,
label changes and inner strife,
Heart has maintained a consistent
sound, but will this controversy
ever end? It is with this question
that the future of the band rests. If
Heart can avoid any further
conflict, then the future holds more
commercial success. If not, the
80's will certainly be a "Heartless"
decade.
