Union By Jeannie Ralston Gamecock Staff Writer Officers for the 1980 fall semester were elected by Russell House University Union last week. These officers will serve only one semester instead of an entire year in compliance with a RHUU constitutional amendment changing the election period to coincide with the calender year. Grimes, a graduate student in student personnel services who worked the RHUU last year, won after her opponent, Ken Paluch, was disqualified for not carrying enough credit hours this semester. DALTON, former chairman of the Visual Arts Committee and Louise Haltiwanger, a former member of the Special Programs Committee, ran unopposed. Cox, former chairperson of the Special Programs Committee, defeated Marsha Mansur in a run-off election. "The programming is good but not everyone knows about it," Grimes said. "If we can get more students involved it will help bring in more revenue so we can do more." Grimes said because USC is so large, RHUU activities often go unnoticed. Grimes said such activities would null all the committees together, increase communication and thereby strengthen the union.
