The courtship of the insolent
Katharina and the determined
Petruchio as depicted in a ballet
adaptation of Shakespeare's
comedy, "The Taming of the
Shrew", will be presented by the
USC department of Theater and
Speech March 6-9 in Drayton Hall.
The production will begin at 8 on
March 6-8 and 3 on March 8-9.
Admission is $3.50 for the public,
$2.50 for USC faculty and staff and
$1.50 for students. Call 777-2551 for

"Post Rape Trauma: The,
Treatment of Sexual Assault", is
the topic of a free public talk at
3:30 March 10 in Room 151 of
Gambrell Hall. The lecture by
Ellen Zeltner, director of Social
Work Services at Richland
Memorial Hospital, will be
followed by a discussion and
reception. It is sponsored by the
Women's Study Committee of USC,
a group which seeks to present
issues concerning women.
The Small Business Development
Center at USC will provide
free consultation for small
businesses. The center has fulltime
counselors eager to work with
small businesses, by offering
advice and solutions on the many
problems that face the small

Kitani Foundation is currently
involved with an Artist-inIiesidence
Project in 20 schools in
Richland County; school District 1.
This project involves approximately
BOOO children and is
funded by S.C. Arts Commission
and the District. The Artists-inSchools
project will culminate with
a Spring Festival which will include
sponsorship by the Downtown
Action Council, the city of
Columbia and many other
organizations, ousinesses ana
agencies. Other projects sponsored
by the foundation are Dizzy
Gillespie March 8, Memphis Blues
Caravan April 1 and the New
Orleans Philharmonic Symphony
Orchestra May 12-13. All of these
events will" take place at the
Township Auditorium.
The USC School of Law has
announced creation of the Sol E.
Abrams Law Scholorship Fund by
C. Ben Bowen of Greenville and
Sam Breen of Rock Hill. The
scholarship honors the late Sol E.
Abrams, former chairman of the
Greenville County election commission
who died in 1978.Donations
for the scholarship fund to assist
deserving law school students will
be accepted through the Office of
the Dean, School of Law, USC,
Columbia S C. 29208.
A Russell House exhibit, "And
Now a Message: A Century of
American Advertising," from the
Smithsonian Institution will run
through March 31 on the second
floor of Russell House.
John Birks "Dizzy" Gillespie,
S.C. famed jazz trumpeter, will be
presented by Kitani Foundation at
The Township on March 8.
