Of General Studies' three seats, two are uncontested. She also believes the coliseum-based school has an image problem. "It's time the rest of the university started taking General Studies for what it is, and not what they think it is," she said. A junior retail management major, Mitcheltree would like to serve on the senate finance committee. SCOTT MALOUCHE, also a junior majoring in hotel, restaurant and tourism, is an incumbent senator running for seat 3. Malouche says he was involved on the finance committee and helped push the SAC elimination bill. He also said he would be receptive to his constituents' problems. "If they have any problems, I will refer it to the proper committee," he said. Malouche also served on the residential life committee. IV/Villi CififJKWUlN K/\ , a sophomore general commerce major and a transfer student from Palm Beach Junior College, is Malouche's opponent. She says she is running because "I have yet to see any representation. I just realized there are three seats for General Studies." Czerwonka wants to increase student awareness of Student Government functions, saying she will keep her constituents informed through faculty members andtheGSSAC. "We can control a lot more of our activities through SG," she said. "I will get on any committee to further my , knowledge of the university." Cheryl Doe, unopposed for seat 1, Capstone, feels the senate should "gear more towards programs that are visible to the students." DOE , a senator, said one of the main problems with the senate is the lack of participation by senators. "The senate starts out OK but during the year senators become disenchanted and leave the senate."
