The newest club on campus, the
Casting Club, does not mold actors,
but molds sculpture. In order to
promote interest and awareness of
the many facets of sculpture, the
club is holding an exhibition in the
Russell House Lobby through
March 7.

president Danny Berry said. "This
is the most amazing form of art.
You can do any design and it gives
you a great deal of satisfaction
when you've created your first
piece of sculpture." Non Art
majors are welcome in the club as
well as Art majors.. "This club is
just for anybody interested in
casting, Deginners as well as ad- I
vanced sculptors," Berry added.
Meetings are held every two
weeks on Wednesday at 5 in the
Sloan building. However, there is
always someone working on his
piece of sculpture on any given
day. "The molding process takes
about 24 hours." explained
professor Formo, advisor to the
club. "Then another three hours to
melt the bronze The pouring into
the mold takes only a few
minntoc "
SOME OF the sculptures will be
for sale at the exhibition. The club
is going to collaborate with
ceramic artists for the Spring
Festival Sale. There will also be an
April show of bronze sculptures.
These sales will help finance the
club's trip to the International
Sculpture Conference in
Washington this June. "This trip
will be exciting because there will
be many workshops and many
renowned sculptors from all over
the world," Berry said.

The club's current exhibition
includes many impressive works
like Elizabeth Lind Shorey's
"Dancer" and "Dancer at Rest."
"Dancer" displays a beauty of line
that flows endlessly. "Dancer at
Rest," along with Dixie Dugan's
"Eve," gives more attention to the
human form. Most of the works
were quite impressive and varied
in style and subject matter.
