6Angels' deserve publicity To tin* Kditor: It seems to me that every time I open the Gamecock to the editorial page 1 encounter some new letter concerning the Greeks at USC. At first these letters interested me, but since I have read the same gripes and compliments about the Greeks over and over, they are becoming rather deja vu What bothers me most, however, is not the overabundance of Greek letters, but the lack of printed material on other campus organizations, in particular the service organizations and both branches of ROTC. I am a member ot the USC chapter of Angel Flight, which serves as a liaison between Air Force ROTC and the civilian students on campus. We Angels do much of the things sororities do. such as going to parties and doirg service projects Sororities are well known on campus and receive a lot of publicity and have a large influx ol v 11 v ii 111 v ??? \ i . t i 111 v i Angel Klight never receives the kind ol coverage that tIn* (irooks do, wo aro virtually unknown on campus and therefore havo I roubles gotting now members. I (>ur pledge poriod starts again in ; a low wooks. hut the turnout will be j very small compared to sorority pledges. I am certain that wo would have a much larger chapter j ol Angel Flight if we were not so j anonymous. j 1 realize thai other organizations j suffer this laek of newspaper coverage and in the process are not 1 well-known, just as Angel Flight. If I the (iamecock would only give us ' "Independents" a break, we would j have a much easier time getting ; things accomplished.
