USC Athletic Director Jim
Carlen confirmed Friday he has
permission from Duke University
to interview Blue Devil basketball
coach Bill Foster about replacing
Frank McGuire. Foster has
repeatedly declined to discuss the
possibility of his going to Carolina.
Carlen pointed out he has also
asked other schools' athletic
directors if he may talk to their
basketball coaches, he declined to
identify the schools.

Utah, Foster rebuilt the Duke
