I run in, sign a time card and rush out to begin work. LATER -1 thought aluminun was supposed to be light, but this truss weighs a ton; lucky we have lots of strong types to carry it. Those boxes have been taken off with a iorK-nu, waicn your ieei! iavo guys to roll that box down the ramp, we don't need any accidents because a box got out of control. 1 PM ? The show is finally s over, and we descend upon the ~ stage like a plague of locusts to start tearing it down. There are still a few fans left, calling to us to throw them something from the stage, but we ignore them. We are assigned in teams to selected roadies; 1 help load keyboard equipment into packing cases and then load them on the truck. When that's done, the team is given to another roadie to help him load his truck, and we are trapped loading trucks for the rest of the night. At one point we were standing exhausted, waiting for another I box, my mouth was like used cotton and I was seriously considering taking a water-break, when one of the roadies came up with several bottles of Coke in each hand, set them down on a case and said, "here's some smiles" and went on to another group.
