The second edition of intramural
flag football rankings has some
changes this week. Sigma Chi, last
year's champions and third ranked
a week ago, lost their second came
of the season to Alpha Tau Omega
12-6 in double overtime and
dropped to the tenth spot in the
poll.
Top ranked AFRO continued its

wins to up their record to 5-0.
AFRO defeated arch-rival the
Young Democrats 6-0 in overtime.
Remaining in the second position
for the second consecutive week is
Maxcy. The defending residence
champions defeated arch-rival
Thornwell 12-fi to imnrove their
record to 4-0. It appears now that
the game between Maxcy and
Snowden could very well decide
the residence champion for 1979.
Moving from the fifth position to
the third spot is Phi Kappa Sigma.
With a narrow 2-0 win over Kappa
Sigma, Phi Kappa Sigma is con

along with Kappa Alpha and Sigma
Nu are the main contenders to win
the fraternity division this year.
Phi Kappa Sigma is 5-0 on the
season with three games yet to be
played.
Also moving up in the rankings

season with an overtime win
against Sigma Phi Epsilon 13-6.
One of the outstanding players for
KAhas been the receiving ability of
former Gamecock basketball star
Billy Gause. Gause caught
numerous passes against Sigma
Phi Epsilon and is KA's top

opening game, Sigma Nu has
played steady football and is one of

division. Sigma Nu is 4-1 and
ranked fifth.
In the sixth position is another
new team to the intramural
rankings, Chi Psi. The one-time
flag football powerhouse has
gotten its team back into contention
for top honors in the
fraternity division. Chi Psi
defeated a vastly improved Pi
Kappa Phi team 12-6 and sports a

Moving up one spot in the
rankings is Snowden. After being
ranked eighth a week ago Snowden
completely destroyed Moore 27-6 to
improve their record to 3-0 on the
season,
Dropping one spot in the I
rankings is Moore Alumni. After |
suffering their first loss of the |
season, Moore Alumni is now I
ranked eighth. Still to come for Moore
Alumni will be a contest
with last year's runner-ups AFRO.
Remaining in the ninth position
is Air Force ROTC. Air Force
improved their season record to 3-1

top honors in the independent
division. Still to come on Air
Force's schedule is their annual
game with arch-rival Navy.
Rounding out the top ten is last
year's champions, Sigma Chi.
After dominating the fraternity
division for the last two seasons,
Sigma Chi has had to rely on their
defense more than ever before.
