The champions, John Zubizarreta, and Margie Carlisle, attended the Nationals July 27-28, on the Salmon River, Pulaski, N.Y., near Lake Ontario. Zubizarreta, a graduate student working on his doctorate in English, joined Carlisle, a senior physical educatin major, to overcome some twenty other teams in the C-2 mixed class, involving a team of two, male and female.
