Mayotte has climaxed a brilliant
carecr with the Gamecocks,
receiving the Rafael Osuna Award
at the National Collegiate Athletic
Association, NCAA, Championships
in Athens, Ga.
The award is named in memory
of Osuna, a former All-American
and NCAA singles and doubles
champion at Southern Cal, who
was killed in an airplane crash in
1968.
Mayotte is the 11th collegiate
player to be honored for his
competitive excellence, sport
smanship and contribution tc
tennis as voted on by the coaches
and players attending the NCA^
Championships.
A native of Springfield, Mass.
