April 9, 1979 76 apply By Tom Travis News Editor A new assistant director for programming and activities for the Russell House University Union, RHUU, will be selected by May 12, according to John Foster, RHUU president. ABOUT 76 applicants for the job are currently being reviewed by a search committee, according to Ken Brandt, Russell House business manager. Brandt said only 12 to 15 are "top applicants." Many applicants who submitted resumes are either unqualified or unfamiliar with the :?u 1?? - * - " - juu, according 10 Brandt. "Probably 50 people shouldn't have applied," he said. Otts will have final approval in the selection process, Foster said. Qualifications for programming director include a masters degree or equivalent experience, specialized training in student personnel administration and four years minimum experience in union or related areas. "1 had been doing the job for two years before 5 reclassification," Laatsch said; however, she said she was not receiving adequate salary. Brandt said the salary for the new programming director will be "between $16,000 and $19,000." t i Laatsch said the duties had changed since r January, when all functions of Student t Activities were added to the programming director's job description.
