Blood lint by Sidney Sheldon; William*
Morrow; $9.95
Intrigue, mystery and suspense
make Sidney Sheldon's new novel,
Bloodline, his best yet.
The plot of the novel centers
around Elizabeth Roffee, the only
child of the world's richest and
most powerful man, Sam Roffee.
Shortly after the novel begins, Sam
dies in a strange accident, leaving
the controling interest in his
multibillion dollar business in the
hands of his daughter.
Even though Elizabeth has
controlling interest in the company,
the remainder of the shares
of stock are equally divided among
Sam's other relatives ? Amanda
and Walther Gassner, Ivo and
oiinoneiia foiazzi, ana unaries
and Helene Roffee.
EACH OF these couples
desperately wants to sell their
shares, but Sam specifically
requested that the company
remain in the hands of the family
unless each stock holder agreed
that one of them could sell. Each
couple is more than willing to let

the shares be sold, but Elizabeth
does want to sell the company
which took her family four
generations to build.
This fact angers all of her
relatives. One of them, in fact is ?n
mad and so desperate to obtain the
money from selling his tock that he
decides to kill Elizabeth in order to
gain control of the company.
Elizabeth quickly realizes tha
t her life is in danger and she turns
to her life-long lover, Phys
Williams for protection.
THE NOVEL builds to a
shocking and suspense-filled
climax which has come to be a
trademark of Sheldon's novels.
The reader is kept guessing up to
the final moments of the novel just
who the would-be killer is. Is it Ivo .
Palazzi, a man with two wives and
two families to support? Is it ,
Charles Roffee, a man who has
gambled away his entire fortune?

the rich which is as good as his
most successful novel, The Other
Side of Midnight. In fact. Bloodline
is very similar to Midnight in that
it deals with a heroine who is
terrorized by friends and relatives.
As is typical of Sheldon's novels,
Bloodline is filled with sex and
violence. Sheldon, however, does
not sacrifice plot and good
organization in order to include
these elements like many 20th
century authors do.
Bloodline is must reading for
anyone who enjoys a good
"whodunit." Currently, Bloodline
is still in the top 10 on the New York
Times Best Seller List. According
to many book dealers, the novel
should be out in paperback in about
eight months.
Sheldon's other novels include:
The Naked Face and A Stranger In
The Mirror.

My Life in Court by Louis Nizer; Jove
Books; $1.95
My Life in Court, a legal autobiography by famous trial lawyer Louis
Nizer, is now in its 13th printing. It has sold in excess of two million
copies. The book dwells on sensationalism which is probably why it has
sold two million copies.
Nizer develops each case to its fullest, making sure not to leave out
any details about the controversial and perverted acts committed by the

My Life in Court, however, does contain some cases that have good
courtroom suspense. A few cases involve interesting trial proceedings
and outcomes. One example of this is a plagiarism suit against Charlie
Chaplin which proves that Louis Nizer is a lawyer, not a gossip
columnist.
If you're an avid fan magazine reader who is getting bored with the
same old everyday sex scandals, this book is for you. If you're a law
student who wants to write a book and make a lot of money, this book
could very well be your best teacher. Otherwise, don't waste your time
on My Life in Court.
