three had worked various clubs in
New York and Philadelphia before
going to Los Angeles. Each has
been with the Comedy Store for a
little over a month. It was there
they were first given a chance tc
display their talents by Comedj
Store owner Mitzi Shore and havf
been performing there for a little
more than a month.

"Amateur night is each Monday
night, and potential regulars car

worth of material. Once you get 01

Raker said the college tour i

Each comedian said he views his
i comic career as a stepping stone to
! other fields. Raker has written a
; script for a "Rhoda" show and has
i done voiceovers for several
? commercials. Saget has made
) several films and is working on a
r documentary. "Standup comedy is
i a way to get into other areas,"
: DeHart, who has his aim on acting,
said. "Television show casters see

watch you perform. I could always
'j make a good living as an actor. But
j as a comedian, you can do so many

that their comedy comes naturally.
s "It's impossible to sit down and
, say, 'I'm going to write a joke',"
Raker said. If you have a comedy
e mind, it will work. But if you try
