by the House of Representatives
and await final approval from
Governor James B. Edwards.
The $1.38 billion state budget has
been in a conference committee
comprised of both House and
Senate members to iron out differing
versions of -the bill, according
to Pete Denton, vice
president of finance. Denton said
USC's budget was not a subject of
contention.
University funding was increased
by the S.C. Senate Finance
Committee by $1.75 million over
the recommended $68,891,221 from
the House Ways and Means
Committee early in June. Denton
said no monies have been added to
the USC appropriations since then.
