students living in fraternity and
sorority houses are more likely to
smoke than other students. Certain
majors have more smokers than
others. College students know the
adverse effects of smoking, and
will seek assistance in changing
their smoking behavior when given
the opportunity.

Reinhardt stresses preventive care
as the best kind of medicine.
One type of withdrawal program
under consideration is the
behavior-modification type, according
to Reinhardt. "One thing
people always say when they want
to quit smoking is they gain
weight/' she said. "So we could
correlate a weight control program
along with a behavior mod type
program and kill two birds with
one stone."
