He scans what seems to be a rather small area. Questions arise. Where do I put all my stuff? How can I make this room look interesting? He wants "his" place to truly reflect his personality. Making a dorm room unique and comfortable was a task Mike Shorttof 512 Snowden welcomed. Shortt and roommate, Steve Jason, a freshman business major, spent a total of about 24 hours painting, laying carpet and making general improvements. Shortt estimates $150 was spent on the curtains, paint and carpet. The two painted their room beige. On one wall, Shortt spent approximately six hours painting the symbol of Carolina ? the gamecock. Brown crushed velvet curtains cover the sliding doors and brown shag carpet were added. Art works r by Shortt and mounted photographs taken by Jason are on the wall. Rust brown bedspreads and brown backrests are the finishing touches to the room's decor. Before summer session, Shortt and Jason must pay to have their room re-painted or paint it themselves, according to Towers mnnatfmpmont Neither Shortt nor Jason will return to 512 Snowden after spring session. They did not secure the room for the fall. Shortt said he will move to the ZBT fraternity house.
