' "If we are to get anything done
this year we are going to have to
work as a team," SG president
Seamus O'Boyle said, addressing
the opening session of the newly
elected senate.
O'Boyle added that he expects
progress in the upcoming year. He
stressed that senate sessions would
be more orderly, common respect
for fellow senators being a primary
goal.
LISA VOGELSONG, the newlyelected
SG treasurer, described
what she thought her responsibilities
were as treasurer and as
head of the Student Allocations
Commission(SAC). She said, that
Decause of the computer setup, she
could not make a bi-monthly report
to the senate as originally
proposed.
She said she would make a
monthly report, which would be
sufficient.
Mary Henry, the newly appointed
chaplain to the senate, r
wished the new senate body good
luck in the upcoming year. Henry
is a former senator and USC
representative to the S.C. Student

The newly elected president of
the senate, Garry Norris, took
charge of the meeting, saying that
he wants the senate to get things
done this year. He said that he
supports O'Boyles desire to work

a more orderly fashion.
Norris said the first step was to
rearrange the senate seating.
There was no previous seating
