of Publications for the position,
I fail to see how Frank
McGuire enters into the issue.
Furthermore, I don't see how
Dr. Holderman fits into the
immediate picture. He is not a
member of the Board of
Publications, nor was he

seven voting members, four of
them students, all of them free
thinkers with varying interests.
The members of that
committee made their
selection with the goal of
finding the person who was
most capable of assuming
leadership of the paper and
turning it into a quality
publication representing and
reflecting on the academic and
intellectual quality of our
school. They chose John West
on merit, not because he would
