"OProjections of the South", a
three day symposium on regional
ethnography and film-making, will
he held today through Saturday or
campus.
Southern anthropologists and
film makers will present papers
and films on the southern heritage
and mores.
The opening session was devoted
to religion, with an emphasis on the
mostly southern rite of snakehandling.
Three films on the topic
were shown

The committee met for the first
time Thursday, according to Prof
Walter Reiser, chairman of the
committee.

said. Also, the committee will
contact engineering departments
at schools around the country and
ask Carolina faculty for names ol
possible candidates, he said.
