Greeks raise $'
By KAREN LEE
Gamecock Staff Writer
The fraternities and sororities have raised
$28,100 for the Riverbanks Znn Mnmh 01
in connection with Greek Week, Greek Week
chairman Bob Knudsen said.
MONEY WAS RAISED by ticket sales.
Fraternity and sorority members sold tickets
for $1, or one-half the regular admission price,
to Columbia merchants, citizens and Carolina
students through March 30. Since then they
have taken orders by phone. Phone orders will
stoo tomorrow
"We could sell them forever, there's that
much demand," Knudsen said

ABOUT 80 PER CENT of the money collected
will be kept by the zoo. The other 20 per cent
will be relumed to the university to establish a
perpetual scholarship. However, the university
win probably accept no more than $5,000,
although they may be entitled to more, he said.
Knudsen said, "We've already passed the
$5,000 mark, and we may just call it quits at
that."
The scholarship is being established as a sort
of thank-you, Knudsen said. "It will most
definitely be for someone in the fraternity,
sorority organization, but we don't know the
details," he said.

The project is sponsored by the InterFraternity
