the University Union and direction
of Free University was left to
Cindy Taylor.
Free University has grown to 250
participants and Taylor said she
hopes the addition of new courses
will increase the number to 500 this
spring. At such a rate of growth the
committee could use new workers,
she said.

The Columbia Red Cross serves
37 hospitals in the 17 Midlands
counties. These hospitals take no
blood because of lack of testing
equipment.
Dan Laney, president of Chi Psi
fraternity said "We decided to
sponsor the bloodmobile because of
me overriding importance of this
project. Our goal is 120 units
(pints) and I'm confident that the
USC faculty and students will help
us meet that goal."

creative ideas into reality. It is
really exciting. Every year we
offer something new."
The new courses set for this vear
deal with folk music, belly "dancing,
make-up (street make-up),
bowling, the American Indian, and
indoor spring flowers.
All courses are free or charge
only for expenses.The instructors
are volunteers. Free University
derived its name from the absence
of fees, but this is also one of the
chief problems.
With no fees with which to pay
the teachers, Free University often
loses out to the competition, such
as Columbia Hall, which enlists
many instructors that might
otherwise teach for Free
University.
