USC's schedule is not getting
easier and some players think
Saturday's game with Baylor will
be another tough test for the
Gamecocks.Offensive
tackle Mike Fralic was
redshirted last season and did not
play in Carolina's 24-13 win over
liayior. ineyre a really gooa
team and are supposed to be one of
the top tarns in the Southwest
Conference," Fralic said. "They
play a reading defense which
means they play off the block and
don't fire off the line of scrimmage,"
he said.
CAROLINA HAD trouble with
Georgia's pass rush last week but
Fralic does not think Baylor's will
give them much trouble. "Georgia
naa eigni men on me iront line ana
Baylor does nit, so we should be
able to give better protection," he
said.
Tight end Don Stewart praises
Baylor's defense. "The defense
seems pretty big and is probably
one of the toughest defenses we will
play all year," said Stewart. "The
defensive backs play really tough
and try to intimidate you."
Stewart does not think the
Gamecocks will have a let down
after losing to Georgia. "We lost a
game and we have to take it from
there," he said. "Baylor is a good

offense needs to execute better and
throw a better variety of passes to
improve."
CAROLINA'S SECONDARY will

as they were against Georgia. "We

threat," he said. "I think it would
keep the defenses a little off
guard."
SWINEIIART REGARDS his
second-half performance in the
Duke game as more than a moraleboosting
effort. "It really put me
over the hump," he said. "I knew I
could play but sometiems a slow
start can get you frustreated while
you're trying to prove yourself.

reading the Duke defense on the
running plays, although I made
several mistakes on pass plays.
But, overall, I v as happy with my
playing and very glad to get the
experience."
Carlen has tolu Swinehart he
may play this week when the
Gamecocks travel to Baylor.
"The coach wants ne to go
ahead and get some experience
and he said that I'd possibly get to
play a quarter, or maybe a third, of
the game against Baylor,"
Swinehart said. "I'll probably go in
if Bass gets tired but as long as he's
having a good game I don't see any
reason for me going out."
