Several USC players who had
minor roles in Georgia's 52-14 win
against the Gamecocks in Athens
two years ago will play major roles j
this Saturday when the two undefeated
teams meet.
Running back Kevin Long was
used as a reserve in that game two
years ago. "I didn't get to play

remember rushing three times for
30 yards. I. think we have a lot

"Really to get beaten by eight
points is not a bad loss," he said.
"They didn't swarm us. We have to >
be optimistic about this game." t
Quarterback Ron Bass and Long
agree that Georgia's eight man i
defensive front makes the passing f
game tempting. Receiver Phil t

going to have to pass," Logan said. V

can definitely play with them,"
Bass said. "Hut we have to keep
the mistakes down to beat them.
We have been averaging three to
four mistakes a game."
Bass said since Georgia uses a
eight man front there will be times
he will be looking at only one
linebacker. "This will allow us to
run up the middle more," Bass
said. "I think we will probably run
at their linebackers."
One of the things Bass
remembers the most al>out USC's
52-14 loss in Athens was Georgia
never punting. "That was very
frustrating for us," he said.
LONG SAII) he hoped to become
a pass receiver in this game as
well. "If we have a good passing
game we will be in there,".
"Yes, I remember that long day
